چکیده

Abstract This article incorporates into Christian theological anthropology some recent findings of a school scientific researchers in the fields comparative and developmental psychology. These researchers—namely, Michael Tomasello, Malinda Carpenter, others affiliated with Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology—have advanced theologically significant hypothesis about basic difference between social‐cognitive capacities human beings those other animals. Their is that are distinguished from animals, part, because an ability to share attention conspecifics unique way, namely, by means capacity called joint attention. In keeping procedures modern science, they have tested verified their through laboratory experiments on nonhuman primates (chimpanzees particular) (infants toddlers). as scientists, however, do not attempt show relevance anthropology. shows how sheds new light upon doctrine created image Trinity (imago Trinitatis).

Attention, Joint Attention, and Social Cognition.

Before social cognition there is joint processing of information about the attention of self and others. This joint attention requires the integrated activation of a distributed cortical network involving the anterior and posterior attention systems. In infancy, practice with the integrated activation of this distributed attention network is a major contributor to the development of social cogn...

The Challenges of Joint Attention

This paper discusses the concept of joint attention and the different skills underlying its development. We argue that joint attention is much more than gaze following or simultaneous looking because it implies a shared intentional relation to the world. The current state-of-the-art in robotic and computational models of the different prerequisites of joint attention is discussed in relation wi...

Joint attention and early language.

This paper reports 2 studies that explore the role of joint attentional processes in the child's acquisition of language. In the first study, 24 children were videotaped at 15 and 21 months of age in naturalistic interaction with their mothers. Episodes of joint attentional focus between mother and child--for example, joint play with an object--were identified. Inside, as opposed to outside, th...

Joint attention and language evolution

This study investigates to what extent more advanced joint attentional mechanisms, rather than only shared attention between two agents and an object, influence the results of language games played by these agents. We present computer simulations which show that adding constructs that mimic follow attention capabilities increases the performance of agents in these language games substantially. ...
